Parador de Mojácar

Spain – Andalusia – Almería – Mojácar
Modern hotel fronting onto a Mediterranean beach
4-star
Fronting directly onto a golden beach and enjoying one of the best microclimates in Spain, this very comfortable modern Parador is about half way between Almería and Cartagena. As well as enjoying the sand and the sea, guests should also visit the nearby attractive whitewashed town of Mojácar up in the hills behind the hotel, a town that traces its origins to Phoenician times, and which, under Moorish rule, was famous for the mutual tolerance of its Muslim, Christian and Jewish inhabitants. At the Parador itself the garden includes a swimming pool, a tennis court and a children’s play area and the bright bedrooms all have terraces overlooking the sea. In the restaurant, while enjoying stunning sea views, guests may sample delicious local dishes such as Arroz a la Garruchera (a rice dish), Remojón almeriense (a seafood salad) and Pastel de Vera (a cake made with apples, walnuts and raisins).
In July 2008 its 18-month refurbishment was completed during which it was totally redecorated and many rooms and communal areas were remodelled.
