Parador de Manzanares

Spain – Castilla la Mancha – Ciudad Real – Manzanares
La Mancha country house
3-star
This attractive modern hotel, located just off the main road heading south from Madrid to Andalusia, with its white walls, Moorish tiles and pantiled roof, lies in the heart of La Mancha, and nearby one can still see some of the old windmills made famous in the tale of Don Quixote. Manzanares is situated near the towns of Ciudad Real and Valdepeñas, and between three of the most beautiful nature reserves in Spain: Cabañeros National Park, the Ruidera Lakes, and the Tablas de Daimiel (particularly noted for its bird life). The Parador itself is surrounded by attractive gardens, full of trees, shrubs and flowers, together with an outdoor pool and children’s play area. The public rooms and bedrooms have wooden furniture, leather chairs and wrought iron wall lights, giving the Parador a friendly and cosy atmosphere. As well as international dishes, the restaurant offers an enticing buffet and recommends such regional specialities – prepared in an open kitchen - as partridge cooked with vegetables, roast shoulder of suckling lamb and Mostillo (grapes cooked with aniseed, cinnamon and cloves).
