Parador de Cambados

Spain – Galicia – Pontevedra – Cambados
17th-century manor house
4-star
The attractive seaside town of Cambados overlooks the deeply indented Ria de Arousa and its islands, on the west coast of Galicia, between Santiago and Vigo. The Parador is located in the centre of Cambados in one of the finest buildings in the town, a grey stone manor house which goes back to the 17th century. The exterior features long, low classical facades and a square castellated tower, while within the walls there is an arcaded courtyard where guests may dine while listening to the gentle sounds of an old stone fountain. The public rooms feature beamed ceilings and stone pillars, and in the garden there is an outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court. The restaurant features many dishes based on seafood freshly landed on the Galician coast, such as lobster with rice and saffron, Lenguado al Albarino (sole cooked in the famous local white wine) and Empanada Gramada de Millo y zamburiñas (bread stuffed with sautéed onions and scallops).
