1. You may have a route in mind, or you may appreciate our suggestions. You can choose the Pousadas you want to stay in (in multiples of 5 nights) on the Passport offer or select one of the routes we have prepared below. Once you have decided, simply give us a call and we can check the availability for the dates you want. We will then hold these bookings for you whilst you book your flights.

2. Rather than being tied to a specific flight with one airline, this arrangement gives you the freedom to choose the date and time that you want to travel. Simply choose and book yourself a flight from one of the low cost or scheduled airlines that offer daily flights to Portugal. Fly to Faro, Lisbon or Porto. We suggest you try TAP, Ryanair, Easyjet, BMIbaby, Monarch and British Airways, as well as charter flights to Faro.

3. Once your flights are booked all that is left to do is call us back to reconfirm your accommodation and give us your flight details for the AVIS car hire arrangements. Once payment has been taken we will send you the vouchers for the Pousadas and the car hire by post. You are ready to go!

SUGGESTED ROUTES

The following routes are designed to guide you through the 3 most important areas of Portugal, exploring different aspects of each region whilst staying in some delightful Pousadas. Each route starts and ends within easy driving distance of one of the 3 major airports: Porto, Lison or Faro and can be enjoyed comfortably over 5 or 7 days.

You can expect a drive of around 1 hour per day and no more than 2 hours occasionally, allowing you time to stop and enjoy some interesting sights along the way. Parts of the routes can be undertaken using public transport but a car is better suited for exploring inland. These itineraries are designed as a guide only and can be easily modified or extended. Now that is the way to head off and explore this wonderful country from top to bottom, taking a car from Porto in the north to Faro in the south, and just taking time to stop off and visit the wonderful countryside, the Atlantic coastline, the historic attractions of its famous towns and cities, and the excellent cuisine and wines.

We have illustrated here a relaxed route though the heart of Portugal, although you may want to extend it to explore off the beaten track or to really get a deeper knowledge of this fascinating, pioneering country!
