NORTHERN FRANCE TO SPAIN
Whether you are following the tourist trail through France to Spain or heading straight south to the border, we have an enviable range of grand chateaux, rustic country houses and traditional hotels where you can rest up and recover in style before getting behind the wheel again.

A dip in the pool before dinner, a stretch of the legs in the countryside, or a visit to a wine cellar or vineyard? You might as well enjoy a little luxury at a very affordable price.

There are 550 miles of road (approximately 8 hours’ drive at a steady pace) from Le Havre to Biarritz through some of France’s most famous towns and wine regions, there are so many distractions en route. If you are heading to Spain’s east coast, it’s only 740 miles from Le Havre to the bustling city of Barcelona (roughly 11 hours’ drive). There are still plenty of landmarks to see en route and just as many vineyards and restaurants to enjoy!

ACROSS TO THE ALPS
If you are heading off to the Alps for some serious skiing and apres-skiing, you can add some style and comfort to make the drive across France considerably more enjoyable, at a very modest cost.

With many of the main resorts within 8 to 10 hours' drive from Calais (550-650 miles), driving down to the resort is an attractive alternative to flying, particularly when you take a little time off to visit Reims and Epernay in the heart of the Champagne region, Paris - "the City of Light", or the extensive Burgundy region that follows the middle part of the route down.

We have selected a few charming properties that are perfect places to stop over if you want to break your journey half way there (just after Troyes). Alternatively, if you plan to drive down in one day we have selected some magnificent chateaux and hotels towards Geneva and Chambery that leave you comfortably placed to drive up to your resort in daylight the following morning, in time to get out on the slopes.

All have small restaurants offering traditional French fare and will give you a warm welcome as you enjoy a quiet night in delightful surroundings.
